TakingITGlobal is a globally recognized organization dedicated to empowering youth to understand and act on the world’s greatest challenges. With a strong presence across Canada and internationally, TakingITGlobal has engaged hundreds of thousands of young people through education, civic engagement, and digital innovation initiatives, often in partnership with leading institutions and government bodies.
Illuminate Universe is a global education and leadership platform that has supported over 20,000+ learners across 100+ partnerships spanning government, corporate, and nonprofit sectors. With roots in experiential learning and innovation, Illuminate designs programs that integrate real-world projects, mentorship, and accredited learning pathways to equip the next generation of leaders with both vision and execution capability.
How Dress For Good Works
A five-step journey from application to community impact
Every stage brings scholars and mentors closer through style, mentorship, hands-on leadership, and shared celebration.

Apply to Become a Dress for Good Scholar or Mentor
Girls and women are invited to apply to the Dress for Good initiative as scholars (mentees) or mentors. Applicants complete an online application outlining their backgrounds, career interests, leadership aspirations, and motivations for joining. Selected applicants will be contacted by our team to complete the onboarding process.

Choose Your Dress & Join Illuminate Connect
Selected scholars and mentors are invited to browse our Dress Book and choose a dress of their preference. Once a dress is selected, participants are automatically guided through the Illuminate Connect registration and onboarding process, where they create their profiles, identify their interests, and gain access to our mentorship community. Their selected dresses are then arranged for delivery.

Connect with a Mentor & Explore Career Pathways
Through Illuminate Connect, scholars can discover and connect with experienced women mentors, including professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders from diverse industries. Our integrated booking and video conferencing system allows participants to schedule and attend virtual mentorship coffee chats, explore career opportunities, seek guidance, and develop meaningful professional relationships. Following each session, scholars complete a short learning reflection to capture their key insights and personal development.

Collaborate on a Community Impact Project
Scholars and mentors are encouraged to take their learning beyond mentorship conversations by collaborating on meaningful volunteering and community impact projects through Illuminate Connect. Participants can apply their skills, gain hands-on leadership experience, and develop innovative solutions to challenges affecting their communities.

Celebrate at the Women in Leadership Summit
Participants are invited to come together at our Women in Leadership Summit, featuring career exploration and leadership workshops, networking opportunities, and an AI for Good Innovation Pitch Competition. The summit provides a platform to share ideas, celebrate achievements, and build lasting connections. Virtual participation is available for those unable to attend in person, and participants who cannot attend may complete the program by submitting evidence of their mentorship sessions and learning reflections.

The Impact We Make
Join Us to Celebrate and Fund Essential Programs That Transform Lives and Create Lasting Impact
More than just dresses, this initiative is designed as a transformative learning experience grounded in experiential education. Each cohort welcomes 100 scholars from around the world, selected to participate in a journey that combines confidence, capability, and community.
Scholars receive a dress of their choice from a catalogue of over 500 dresses alongside access to fully sponsored AI, Financial Literacy, or Entrepreneurship Bootcamp programs. Through these project-based learning experiences, scholars develop practical ideas, strengthen their confidence, and build portfolio-ready work that reflects both intellectual depth and real-world application.
Participants are also invited to attend leadership summits hosted in cities around the world, and are matched with mentors from leading global institutions, including Fortune 100 companies and Ivy League networks.
Beyond the program, scholars join a lifelong community with continued access to learning resources, career opportunities, and peers committed to growth, leadership, and meaningful impact.
